How To Inject Your Website Into The Online Traffic & The Money Flow

You can inject your website into the money that's flowing through the Internet by knowing what people are searching for online and what advertisers are paying for these keywords.

Google's Adwords has a free Keyword Planner which shows you what people are searching for online. It also shows you how much these 'search terms' know as keyword phrases are worth.

When a person does an online search using Search Engines like Google.com, Yahoo or Bing, ads appear on the Search Result's page based on the 'keyword phrase' entered in. Advertisers pay the search engine when their ad is clicked on and the person is directed to their website.

How To Get Your Website Displayed By The Search Engines

Select A Main Keyword Phrase You can get your website displayed by search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing when you focus your website on a keyword phrase people are searching for online.

To the left is an example of an online search for the keyword 'Mortgage' on Google's Search Result's page.

1.  Pay Per Click Advertising:  You can buy Pay Per Click Advertising where search engines like Google, will display your ad for a particular Keyword or Keyword Phrase. In this example ads are displayed for the search term 'Mortgage' and Google is paid by the advertiser when their ad is clicked on.

Google makes, on average, $850,000 per day, just on the word 'Mortgage' from people doing online searches and clicking on ads. You don't have to be Google to make money from Click Ads. You can add Google AdSense to your website and Google will pay you only a percentage of what they get paid by the advertiser. Or you can create your own Pay Per Click Ads with your Income Activator program and keep 100% of the click revenue.

2. Organic Search Results:  Ideally, you want to get to the top of the search engines for organic searches. This is where you don't have to pay the search engines to have your website displayed for online searches. To do that you need to focus your website on a Main Keyword Phrase, preferably a Long Tailed Keyword Phrase, supported by adding as many pages as you can with 'Related Keyword Phrases.'

Benefits Of Using A Main Keyword Phrase:

1. You know what people are entering into the search engines to find your website.
2. Based on the keyword phrase, you know how to address your visitor's search inquiry.
3. Focusing your website on 'ONE' keyword phrase increases the amount of search traffic to your website.

Example: If someone was searching for 'Yoga Mats' and Google had 2 websites on Yoga; one that had every description possible about yoga and the other was specifically about 'Yoga Mats', Google would display the website that matched the search term 'Yoga Mats.' The website that divided it's focus to everything about Yoga is too broad and loses it's edge when competing for specific online searches.

If you divide your website's focus on two or more Keyword Phrases, the websites that are focused on one Keyword Phrase will be displayed ahead of yours.

How Content Gets Your Website Displayed By The Search Engines

The website
example to the left looks like a small website with only 6 Top Bar Selections, however it's a huge content based website with many pages of content visible by clicking on the Articles tab. To view this website, click here.

Search Engines, like Google  love content rich websites and display them a head of websites trying to sell something.

If you are selling something you should add pages of content and link to your product or service from each of these pages. You should also display your links the top and bottom of your pages.

Your Link should include the keywords of your product or service. Links that say 'click here' don't give the search engines a description of what this link is about. Links that include a description of a product or service are indexed by the search engines which can then be displayed for online searches.

If you have private pages, like this one, where the search engines can't see them, then links that say 'click here' are good for readership navigation.

A compromise is a link worded like this: How To Link Text
.

When people are searching online, 80% click on the links to websites that are displayed from their search results, rather than the Google Ads. This being the case, you should always have a page with a link that earns your money. Each page should lead visitors to an action that earns revenue.

Never have a website page lead your visitors to a dead end. Always lead them through your sales path.

Search Results Based On Personalization

When searching for your own website to test your ranking, it might appear to move higher in
the search engine results.

This isn't the case, as Google displays websites to you based on your own personalization and search history.

The best way of knowing if Google is presenting your website for online searches is to look at your

How To Select A Main Keyword Phrase

Before you select a Main Keyword Phrase you need to know what people are searching for online.

Google's Free Keyword Tool shows you what people are searching for online and what advertisers are paying for keywords that get visitors to their websites.

By knowing what 'keyword phrases' people are searching for online, it will tell you if people are searching for the topic your website is about.
It will also tell you how much advertisers are open to paying for people who enter in these keywords.

1.  To see what people are searching for online, simply enter in a search term into the Google Keyword Tool. You can try the Keyword Planner by clicking here.

In the example below we typed in the keyword 'Mortgage' and then clicked the 'Search' button. The search results showed the word 'Mortgage' displayed in Blue type (which is a link). When you click on the link, Google Search Results appear (as shown above). This shows you which advertisers are paying Google when a visitor clicks on their ad to get to their website.

You now know how to see which advertisers are interested in paying for visitor traffic.

2.  It also shows you the local monthly searches (based on your country's stats) and the approximate Cost Per Click (CPC) that advertisers pay Google when their ad is clicked.

There are 9,140,000 monthly searches for the word 'Mortgage' and that advertisers are paying Google around $2.62 when their ads are clicked.

You now know how to see how many people are searching online for specific keywords and how much these keywords are worth.

3.  Google also displays related keyword phrases. Here you can see the keywords 'Reverse Mortgage Lenders' has 8,100 monthly searches, and advertisers are paying around $18.51 per click for visitors to be sent to their website.

Define Your Niche Through Long Tailed Keyword Phrases

You want to get your website found from online searches.

If your website is on a broad topic, like in the word 'Mortgage', it will be very hard to get the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing to display your website, because of the competition.

However, you can still have a website on a broad topic, but 'Targeted' to a specific segment of that market. For example, you may have a website about Mortgages, but focused on a 'Niche' like 'Reverse Mortgage Lenders.'

In doing so, you are focusing on an area that is not being addressed by mainstream providers, allowing your website to have a better chance of being displayed by the search engines in these online searches.

You can think of a niche market as a narrowly defined group of potential customers that others may not be aware of and large businesses won't want to bother with it.

For example, if you searched for 'Reverse Mortgage Lenders' you would expect the search engines to display websites about 'Reverse Mortgage Lenders' as opposed to websites providing general information on Mortgages . . . and they do!

Do not make the mistake thinking that a general term like 'Cars' will get you more visitors. It won't and here's why...

Aside from the competitiveness factor of broadly defined keywords, like 'Cars' . . . search engines don't know how to index your website to be shown. It's impossible for one website to be displayed for every search inquiry. A website about Cars could include everything about Car Rentals, Car Manufacturing, Car Sales, and more.

Therefore, a website focused on Car Rentals will have a better chance of being displayed in an online search for Car Rentals than a website about everything Cars.

This doesn't mean your website can't include such things as Car Parts, Car Sales, and so forth. All you're doing is targeting your website on a niche 'Keyword Phrase' to be displayed to get visitor traffic. That's all.

Once visitors come to your website, take them through the sale's path of your other product lines and services.

Use Long Tailed Keyword Phrases

Long Tail Keywords are a string of three or more words that make up a phrase.

Long Tail Keyword Phrases have less competition and better define what your website is about.

For example, if you have, or want a website about 'Paint Touch Ups For Cars,' you might think the keyword 'Cars' would be a better term to capture more visitors.

This is wrong because competition is very high for 1-2 word keyword phrases and doesn't tell the search engines what your website is about and your website would never be displayed on searches.

If you focused on your long tailed keyword phrase 'Paint Touch Ups For Cars', the search engines know exactly what your website is about and you're not competing with websites about car sales, information, videos, etc...

In fact, 'Paint Touch Ups For Cars In Toronto,' is even better if that's your business is located, would be more likely display for that exact keyword phrase and bring better qualified visitors to your website.

Keyword Research

You want to find a Long Tailed Keyword Phrase that:

1. Defines what your website is about.
2. people are searching for online.
3. Advertisers are paying a high dollar value.

Only then will you be able to inject your website into the online search traffic and money that's flowing through the Internet.

When using the Google Keyword Tool, you are looking for:

1. A Long Tailed Keyword Phrase with High Local Monthly Searches of around 50,000 to 100,000.
However, there are no rules, and 10,000 to 20,000 searches per month may work for certain website businesses.

2. High Competition, meaning there's a great demand for this keyword phrase from advertisers.
The higher the demand, the better selection of advertisers there are to pay you for click ads, referrals and leads.

3. High Approximate CPC.
The higher the Cost Per Click (CPC) dollar amount, the better chance you have on making money through click ads, affiliate links, or selling leads.

When you begin, make sure the Keyword Phrase you're entering is really about what you think it's about.

For example 'Raw Food Diet' could be for people, or for dogs.

To confirm exactly what your keyword phrase is about . . . enter it in and
click on your search term that Google has displayed in Blue type.

You will see the advertiser's ads, as well as the website links that come up in the search results. Click on them and see what they bring up.

As an example, If you wanted your website targeted at Raw Food Diet . . . for Dogs, and the websites that come up are all targeted at Raw Food Diet . . . for people, then you know you have the wrong Keyword Phrase for your Target Market. Try the Keyword Phrase . . . Raw Food Diet For Dogs.

Keyword Enriched Domains

While you're selecting a keyword phrase that's targeted to exactly what your website's about, you'll also want to get a Keyword Enriched Domain Name.

Search engines are more inclined to display your website for online searches when they see that your Domain Name matches what your website's about.

For example, you can have a Keyword Enriched Domain Name like www.CarPaintTouchUps.com for the search engines.
